None in kochigallan team, spends too much time glued to the idiot box.It was about time that a bike trip to light house was planned on a lazy Sunday.

LOCATION
Drive/Ride from city to cross the three Goshree bridges,you would reach the Vypin island.Take a right and go slow.Not because the roads are much narrower,but because the signpost is hard to spot too.On the left side you would spot a narrower road with the light house sign.Go straight for about 2km and you would reach a junction.its hard to know this junction,so its advicable to ask someone on road for directions.Take a right and go straiht and you could spot the light house.

NOT RECOMENDED.
Light house is hard to reach by bus,as services to this part of the city are rare.So spending a few extra bucks on petrol is not a bad idea.
People vist here often with their respective wheels and parking is not a problem(lots of empty spaces but park it with your own risk)

It is not safe to hangout at night around the light house because the area is not properly lit at night.

Visit Light house on a sunny day.They wouldn’t let you in if its raining hard.

THE LIGHTHOUSE
We paid the fee( 10 rs per person,cam charges extra)and raced till the top.yes there were more steps to the top than i had seen and we literallay ran to the top

(this gallan lost the race).There were two guys at Light house.Pretty decent chaps.They let us in eventhough it was 5pm(closing time).The view was breath taking.It was like”im the king of the world” feeling with the wind hitting your face and the breath taking view.
If you want your privacy it is better to go there in the evening on a weekday.You can see the city,the sea and the cochin refinery up-close (and personal)
P.S.If you have plenty of time in hand do take a walk at the vypeen beach too
