The title says it all…This Onam, we Gallans are up for a treat from our favourite band Avial. The festive season in Kochi just got levitated to the next level with the introduction of the “Aana Kallans” to kochi.

For Onam, traditionally every home in town will be the place for the sadya and avial would be the star on the menu. We are keeping to the tradition at Kochi and we have Avial to make our lives Happy here! On September 11th at the Marine drive Kochi get ready for the greatest treat of this year. The best part is that the performance is free! Never thought this Onam could be this much fun? Yes its just become one overwhelming Onam , so get all your friends for the show and have a blast at the musical fiesta.

Some hot coffee news for you… The Matteo Coffee, famous for its specialist coffee serving in Bengaluru, comes to Kochi! The Matteo is a specialist coffeehouse, which use only the top 10% of quality Arabica beans, following the standards set by Specialty Coffee Association.

The best part of ‘Matteo’ is gonna be its location. Perfectly located facing the Arabian Sea at the back side of Swapnil Enclave (opposite to Joy Alukkas Wedding Centre), Marine Drive, this one is gonna present Kochi with the best space for a coffee break. Lets show our love for this wonderful world we live in. Tomorrow (25 April 2011), Kochi would be supporting the anti-endosulfan movement along with the rest of the world. Above 80 countries across the world have already banned ‘endosulfan’. Kerala and Karnataka have also banned it. But our central government is still to take action against this killer chemical. By joining our hands, we would be contributing towards one of the greatest causes of this decade.

As part of the Anti-Endosulfan Day, a public meeting would be held at Marine Drive (4 PM). The meeting would include an anti-endosulfan oath taking.

Also, there have been initiatives from various eminent personalities in the society to observe fasting tomorrow from 9Am to 5pm to support the cause. Film directors Ranjith, Laljose and Aashiq Abu, music directors Deepak Dev and Jassie Gift, actors Asif Ali, Reema Kallingal and Mythily are a very few to name from the list of the biggies fasting tomorrow. This Gallan too is fasting. Requesting you all to support this noble cause.

Even though the prices are a little high, the food, ambience and excellent customer service pays up to it. the barista has wi-fi even though they charge you for it. they provide you with board games like checkers, ludo, chess, etc. they have world class cappucino priced at Rs.40 and chocolate cakes are a speciality. you may even try your own recipe, the staff will help u with it. you can stay there for how much ever time you want waiting for your late-coming beloved, or blasting out with your huge gang of friends or alone staring into the waters..!!

The cemented platform of the marine drive corridors lush of water housed at Arabian Sea and it is this passage to cherish a breezy walk with your date…ahem! If you have one.

The marine drive has become famous among the infamous, here you see people from different facet of life wandering in search of peace of mind. The ask for this place has surely pulled in business in forms of restaurants, food courts, malls are just few to name. If you are generous enough then do not look in to your pockets anymore, take a boat ride and show your dear one the beautiful sunset just standing beneath it or may be a ride on speed boat that can speed up your approach for that special one oh! So romantic. Also a perfect place to refresh your science subject that told you earth was spherical, look at ships coming to you from nowhere.

Never a problem if you have come alone, the poet in you will surely sketch some rhymes looking at the sunset, the sky mimicking like the ocean and birds flying as if it’s going nowhere. A pathway stretched parallel to the city that is growing and flourishing in a phase unimaginable with skyscrapers standing alongside, feels to you as if it has just bud the last night. All this falls short in front of Mother Nature’s breath taking show towards the end of the day, which is sunset. The sky clad her with an orange dress, the clouds decorated on it and the sun fixed on to her ring eventually falls in to the ocean and then in the morning she comes back wearing a blue dress with her ring back.
