Inviting Entries for the 2012 SCRIPT Film Festival
The Social and Corporate Responsibility International Promotional Theatre (SCRIPT) has poked its head again, by inviting entries for this year’s Film Festival. The Rotary International District 3201 has taken the initiatives for the 2012 film festival covering areas in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, which is organized by the Rotary Club of Cochin Metropolis and will be held on the 20th and 21st of January, 2012. Governmental/non governmental agencies, voluntary organizations, media schools, students, social activists, individual international and Indian film makers and production houses could submit the short films to SCRIPT 2012. The deadline announced for entry submission is December 01, 2011.
The aim of SCRIPT 2012Â is to adopt and develop Kothad Village and its 1400 inhabitants into a drug and alcohol free, disciplined and socially responsible village, responsible to each other and to the environment. A day-care home for the aged and education for 50 students of the village have already been launched on a pilot project basis. The SCRIPT festival will be free, both for the filmmakers entering their films and for audiences viewing these, in order to boost up the presence of everyone interested.
The competition is open in five categories, i.e., international, film makers, students, documentaries and mini/ad films with a social message (two minutes’ duration). All categories have a first prize of Rs.25,000 and a second prize of Rs.15,000 including Golden Halo awards. Last year’s competition witnessed a wide variety of outstanding short films, and so this year nothing less would be expected.
