India’s oldest stock exchange, The Bombay Stock Exchange better known as BSE, is all set to open a branch in Kochi by early 2012. The decision was announced following Chief Minister Oomen Chandy’s recent visit to the BSE to ring the opening bell. This is an outcome of the discussions held between the Chief Minister and BSE officials including Chairman M S Ramadorai. The BSE plans to conduct investor education programmes in various parts of the state to protect the investors from fraudsters. The BSE officials have also agreed to publish their website in Malayalam. This will undoubtedly be a huge boost for the stock brokers and investors of Kochi, the financial capital of Kerala.
