Im Not New,Im You

I am provoked and more than that I am just a bit surprised that people fail to recognize me. I know this would have surprised many. I know that you know that everyone knows I am KochiGallan!!!!! But you fail to realize that I am not new. I met someone just like you a few days back at a pub where I was buzzing around catching on some of the latest happening of the city and this guy told me� to quote him �oh, so you are the new one.. hmmm so how do u feel being new� .. come one dude I am not new. I am just as old as the city. I am as old as the eponymous days of our beloved kochi. I am as old as the spice trade days and the �became the prominent port� days. I am as old as Ma Huan�s(oh you might not know him coz u never met him but I did) visit to India.(yes that was in the 15^th century). I am not just old enough to be ruled by the poli-trick-al parties but I have been under the governance of the Unni Ramman Koyil, Veera Kerala Varma, Rama Varma and even to this very day of our very own Achchu Mama. So don�t tag me as � NEW�.

Yes you are right when you tell me that �Gallan you are young� yes I am young (BUT NOT NEW)coz I am as new as the last child born in kochi and as new as latest technology developed in the world. I am just as new as the elite class midnight parties and am as young as the youth of our Kochi. So don�t tag me under the time line� coz I have lived more and beyond what may be called an era. I am just the thought of Kochi, the Soul, the nerve and the verve of our Kochi. I am just someone like you who knows that this is where life is and life could be. I am just like you who uses the phrases � namudey kochi� instead of just Kochi. I am just like you who would walk out for a strike without a reason or even like you who would have been screwed by the corruption level and even like the youth who wishes to make a difference to the city. Just like every other being in Kochi who accuses the traffic jam and still loves traveling by the 5 bucks joy ride that the Private buses provide. I am just like the old man standing there selling peanuts and even like the rikshaw guy who is impatiently waiting to get another opportunity to buzz through the town for a joy ride. I am just what our Kochi is. I AM NOT ABOUT BEING OLD OR NEW I AM ALL ABOUT YOU. I AM YOU. I AM YOUR KOCHIGALLAN!!!!!!
