Flaunt your ‘meesha’ for our roads together with Whitesugar !

12 September 2011   View Comments
Remember those days when we plan a road trip to Ooty , Kodai or Bengaluru and as soon as we cross the Kerala border its a heaven for the tyres of our vehicle and more importantly for our backbone. Yes, this Gallan is trying to tell about the roads in our Keralam and those potholes on the roads which are a nightmare to its people. The potholes are ironically a very good place to grow plants as the more rebellious civilians plant them in awareness of the poor state of the roads. :D
But on 13th of September, 2011, we will witness a more rocking way of awareness. Whitesugar, the Kochi based rock band who transform crowds into total headbangers with their socially relevant songs will lead a street show to bring attention to the sorry state of our roads. The show will consist of performances by the band who are known for their sarcastic rock songs on issues affecting the people. The name of the show is “Oru Meeshakaaryam”(a case of the moustache). “The society in south India do not give a clear ear to what the youngsters have to say especially the venal politicians. They adhere more to an elderly person or a person with a moustache(meesha)”, says Gilbert, who plays drums for Whitesugar. “So as part of the youth community we would like to represent them and voice our concerns about the state of affairs in our society. So as a first and immediate step we are raising the issue of our roads. And by
sticking to our style we have sarcastically called the show ‘Oru meeshakaaryam’ “ ,he says.
When this Gallan asked when will they come up with their next endeavor, the band replied that if the response is encouraging they will continue to spread awareness with what they know best. This Gallan wishes the best for the band and would like to encourage his fellow Gallans to participate in the show and make it a huge success. Don’t you want to travel smoothly like us mosquitoes??!! ;)
White sugar consists of James Jude Peter(vocals), Gilbert Xavier(drums), Clement Samson Correya(lead guitar), Nijo Sebastian(base guitar) and their influential manager and decision maker, Sreekanth.S.Kamat.
So Gallans, remember… “Oru messhakaaryam”
