Old Railway Station of Cochin/Kochi

Situated in Mangalavanam(an area of mangroves behind high court building),the station was build during the British rule.The visitors list of the old Majestic Railway station includes many great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi.
We decided to check out the old railway station and was sad to find that the station in total ruins.Mosquitoes (not kochigallan the mosqutio..unfriendly,blood sucking ones)ruled the railway station and we couldn’t spend more than half an hour there.It was very difficult for us to believe the fact that the building we saw there was once the one and only railway station of Kochi
.Yet somewhere in the ruins we imagined the glory of its past.We spent some good time there(eventhough we had company of mosquitoes
) but one of the gallan spotted a gang of men doing drugs there.So we decided to call it a day and Escape.
It is sad to see the Old railway station building giving shelter to anti-social elements instead of being an art exhibit or something showcasing the rich history of the railway staion to the generations to come(history of Kochi too) .May be someday with the support of gallans out there,the old railway station will get renovated(Kochigallan noted it down in the to-do list 2015
)
