Ernakulam has just become the first district in the country to be declared a smoking-free tourist destination. The declaration for a smoke free district was made at a function held at Marine Drive on Saturday which was attended by Hibi Eden MLA, Excise Minister K Babu, Dist. Collector Sheikh Pareeth, and President of District Panchayat Eldhose Kunnapillil among many others.… The declaration comes following the overwhelming positive public response to the authorities’ decision on ban of smoking in public places.
