The activities relate to providing the people with basic necessities- improving the roads, providing uninterrupted water supply, building homes and introducing ferry services. Areas under GIDA jurisdiction include the panchayats of Elamkunnappuzha, Njarakkal, Nayarambalam, Edavanakkad, Kuzhuppilly, Pallippuram, Kadamakkudy, and Mulavukadu as well as areas like Fort Vypeen, Gundu Island and Thanthonnithuruthu.
